#34 - Jacob Sills, Co-Founder and CEO of Uptrust

Uptrust is a communication and engagement tool that helps low income defendants make it to court and mandatory appointments. By improving communication between the criminal justice system and people accused of crimes, we keep low-income defendants out of jail on bench warrants, saving counties money.  Their mission is to keep people out of jail who should not be there. We are focused on reducing incarceration and humanizing the experience of going through the justice system. They work across the spectrum to support clients as they navigate both pretrial and post-conviction. Helping 500,000+ people in 498 Counties as of October 2020.   Building positive relationships with clients is critical to helping them successfully exit the criminal justice system. Uptrust empowers attorneys, probation & parole staff, and other officials to create more positive, supportive relationships with their clients through direct communication and community-based social service referrals.
